Pate is responsible for client portfolio and relationship management, financial planning, asset allocation, cash-flow planning and execution, and other portfolio analysis and refinement. Pate served as the Director of Operations and Portfolio Manager for Reber/Russell Company prior to joining First Western. During his tenure, he oversaw trading operations systems, client services, and project development while the company’s business grew from $250 million in assets under management to $500 million. His professional experience also includes trading, client services, human resources and business development.

What do you like most about your job?
Getting to know clients and their families, spending time with them and feeling like a trusted person in their lives.
What is your most treasured possession?
My house! Other than when the basement is flooding, it makes me happy most every day. It was built in 1886 and was totally dilapidated when I first bought it. I like the feeling of having “saved” it by renovating it and keeping most of its historic qualities. I enjoy thinking about the history of the house and the neighborhood, as well as the liveliness of my neighborhood since its rejuvenation over the last 13 years.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
80 degrees, no wind, floating a river or relaxing on a Lake. Fly-rod or oars in hand, casting or simply watching the scenery go by and looking forward to the campfire and star-gazing that will follow.
