Trust Officer | Northern Colorado

As Vice President, Trust Officer for Northern Colorado, Banner is responsible for the trust management and administration activities for all Northern Colorado trusts.

In her role as a Trust Officer, Banner reviews and interprets trust and estate documents, including trust agreements, wills, federal estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns.  She provides oversight and management of the trust administration activities for Northern Colorado trust and estates.  Banner brings a human touch to the role of Corporate Trustee, and in doing so, she is able to develop fiduciary and wealth management relationships by working closely with the clients and their legal, tax and wealth management advisors. She provides a comprehensive approach to help identify the objectives for the relationship and ultimately meeting the clients' goals.

Prior to joining First Western, Banner spent 13 years as a paralegal for estate planning, trust and estate administration and litigation attorneys.  As a paralegal, she conducted research, interpreted statutes, case law and legal documents and facilitated the drafting of legal documents and federal estate tax returns.

What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy working with an amazing assortment of people, our clients and my NoCO team. I also enjoy the constant problem solving, there is truly never a dull moment in my position.

How does your involvement with the community fulfill you?
Being a member of the Loveland Library Board has helped me develop a stronger love for my community. I am much more connected to what is happening within my community and am more invested in the success of my community. I have developed great relationships with my involvement on the board. In addition, I have been able to expand my interest in the library from just a love of books to understanding the beneficial impact of a library within a community.

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Regis University, Colorado
  • Associate of Applied Sciences Degree with honors in Legal Assisting from Aims Community College, Colorado
  • Completion of Cannon Trust Schools I, II, and II
  • Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CFTA) issued by The Institute of Certified Bankers
