Denver, Colo. – May 23, 2017 – First Western Trust is pleased to announce a new addition to its team of subject matter experts. Gary Lutz, president, commercial banking, has joined the company’s executive team and is responsible for providing financial services solutions for diverse commercial clients.  Specifically, Gary will build and lead the commercial banking strategy at First Western Trust and support his team of experts in commercial lending, depository services, treasury management, and retirement consulting.

Most recently, Gary was president of JFG Wealth Management, a Denver-based boutique wealth management firm providing high-net-worth clients with comprehensive financial planning and goals-based investing.  Prior to that, Gary spent more than 33 years with Wells Fargo and its predecessors in Colorado.  Gary held a number of leadership roles during his time with the organization, including commercial banking national sales manager; head of commercial banking for Colorado, Wyoming and Montana; and head of The Private Bank / Wealth Management Group in Colorado.

Serving the community is one of First Western’s core tenets, and Gary contributes to this mission by serving on the Board of Trustees at the Denver Art Museum. He is also actively involved on Advisory Boards at CU Leeds School of Business Professional Mentorship Program and ACE Scholarships.

“Gary’s wealth of experience and industry knowledge have already made him a key member of the First Western team,” said Scott Wylie, chairman and CEO of First Western Trust. “Gary brings a relationship-based approach to commercial banking, which is unique in the industry. His appointment demonstrates our commitment to being the best private bank for the Western wealth management client, many of whom are entrepreneurs and business leaders themselves.
